West Penn Allegheny Health System

Allegheny-Singer Research Institute (ASRI) is a non-profit, independent research institute and a member of the West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS). ASRI is responsible for managing and conducting clinical, translational and basic research. ASRI manages the sponsored awards made to WPAHS and its related entities.

ASRI is in a unique position to lead translational research that will improve patient care at a rapid pace. ASRI is focused on research that transfers innovation from the laboratory bench to the bedside so that patient care is advanced at a much more rapid pace than conventional research efforts. To accomplish this, ASRI has positioned its research culture uniquely at the midway point between an academic health center and the healthcare industry, thus leveraging the strengths of both.
