Long Medical Center provides quality healthcare to Baton Rouge, its seven surrounding parishes and beyond. Outpatient services for women’s health, family practice, internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, infectious diseases, dermatology, rheumatology and other subspecialties complement inpatient services for internal and emergency medicine and surgery.

Besides medicine and surgical clinics on the main campus, EKLMC provides outpatient care at the North Baton Rouge Clinic, Mid City Clinic, LSU Surgical Facility and South Baton Rouge Clinic at the Leo S. Butler Community Center.
The South Baton Rouge Clinic recently attained recognition status as a Physician Practice Connections- Patient Centered Medical Home from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. To achieve this status, the clinic met rigorous NCQA requirements for its healthcare and coordination of specialty care. EKLMC participates in the LSU Disease Management Program, which manages chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS, according to nationally accepted, evidence based guidelines.
LSU is the largest provider of HIV/ AIDS healthcare in greater Baton Rouge, which ranks second in the nation for the number of HIV infections per capita. However, the LSU Early Intervention Clinic has made a major impact on the community. Despite increases in the total number of people living with HIV infection, the annual number of new HIV infections has remained relatively stable in recent years. The Early Intervention Clinic is of tremendous value to the community.
Opening in 2013 beside the North Baton Rouge Clinic, LSU Urgent Care will have 7,000 square feet for non-emergency healthcare needs that can arise unexpectedly and deserve immediate attention. With over 70 percent of EKLMC emergency care encounters not requiring emergency services, LSU Urgent Care and primary care clinics will increase patient access and deliver the right care, in the right setting, at the right time.
